10000 Facebook
Page Followers:
My Journey
from 0 to 10K!
I recently reached 10000 Facebook Page Followers for an outdoor recreation brand I created.
Ten thousand people follow me!
That still blows my mind!
I mean, it’s not 100,000. It’s not 1,000,000. But it’s 10,000! I’m a hiker from the hills of Southern Illinois, and 10,000 people enjoyed my content enough to hit follow. That’s pretty awesome if you ask me!
It took some time and strategy to reach that significant milestone, and the good news is that anyone can do it if they follow the strategy correctly.
So, I wanted to create this blog post to show you how I reached 10000 Facebook Page Followers for my brand and how you can do it, too!
The Ethical Way to 10000 Facebook Page Followers
First of all, I want to make clear that I use ethical methods of gaining new followers on Facebook. I never used any bots or like services, and I don’t recommend you use them. It might sound tempting to get fast followers that way, but it’s fake and cheating in the end.
If you get caught, not only will Facebook likely delete your page, but your reputation might be ruined as a result. No one likes a cheater.
So, you know – I don’t use follow/like services. I don’t use bots. I don’t intentionally spam to gain followers. I don’t use clickbait tactics. I worked hard and put in time and effort to get the page where it is today.
If you’re still interested in learning how to get 10000 Facebook Page followers the right way, then I recommend you continue reading this post.
Treat your Facebook Page Like it’s Your Only Page
Really!
If you treat your Facebook page as the only website you post to promote your brand, your following will likely rise.
The idea is to turn your page into a community rather than an advertising board for other social network pages or website links.
Facebook has already adjusted its algorithms to put fewer eyes on external content. The more people who stay on their site, the better chance they make money from their ads. It isn’t a mean tactic on their part, it is business, and I get it.
So, with that being said, externally linked posts will be seen less than native content.
So, instead of posting that YouTube video to your Facebook page, upload the video to Facebook instead. Upload those photos too. Post native content and post content on Facebook that you won’t post anywhere else.
Follow the 80/20 rule of Facebook marketing – 80% native content and 20% promotional externally linked content.
Posting as Your Facebook Page
One of the main methods I used to get 10000 Facebook Page Followers was posting my page on other pages and groups.
Some groups don’t allow you to join with your page, but some do. As long as you post relevant content and engage with people in the group, you’re usually OK to do it. Just make sure you follow their rules and don’t be a spammer. You can share posts from your page to the group and reply to the various posts.
The more engaging you are, the better. The unique information you provide, the better. These methods will get people interested in learning more about you. That will, in turn, get them to check out your page.
Follow relevant pages as another method and become an active commenter on those pages. Be engaging, offer unique information, and try to be as friendly as possible.
These tactics alone will help you get to 10,000 followers quicker.
Don’t Be Afraid to Do Low-Risk Facebook Ads
Buy some Facebook ads and target them to get page followers.
You don’t have to break the bank, either.
As long as you customize your ad and target specific interests and information about the people you want to follow your page, you can spend $5 a day and still get significant traffic.
I usually create a budget of $30 to $60 for a 7-day ad display. I fully customize who I want to target with the ad, then submit it. I usually get quite a few new followers after buying ads.
The more money you invest in Facebook advertising, the better the results.
I don’t recommend letting Facebook choose your target market. Use the tools they provide and set it with fine choice. You’ll gain more followers that way.
Get 10000 Facebook Page Followers with Questions
Post questions often!
Post questions that directly relate to your niche as a post. Do it with text-based posts with the background themes Facebook offers. Do it with photos. Do it with videos. Just post questions.
If you give a person something to answer, it will help bring activity to your page. Questions get answers. Quotes get likes. Great questions get answers and shares. Shares mean more followers.
And the best kind of question is the “this or that” based question rather than the open-end question.
What’s your favorite pizza? Do you like pepperoni or cheese pizza the most? The second question is easier to answer because there is a stated choice. That’s a “this or that” question. Those are the best questions because it doesn’t require people to think. They just quickly post an answer, and quick replies are often a key ingredient in turning a piece of content into viral content.
Oh, and if you want more engagement, ask more questions to those who reply and keep the conversation going.
Reply to Everyone and Make Friends in the Beginning
10000 Facebook Page Followers and beyond means it will be harder to please everyone with an answer to their question or comment created just for them.
But before you even reach 5,000 followers, you should be replying to everyone who comments. It would be best if you answered every question. You should respond to every direct message.
While your page is young, you need to try to give everyone attention because that is how you build a loyal audience.
You also get to watch what they want the most and make sure your next posts reflect those needs.
It is way easier to build a community with less than 10,000 followers than it is with more than 10,000 followers.
And everyone that visits your page with a positive outlook on it should be considered a potential friend right away.
Please do what you can to befriend them. Because in the end, that converts them into a page follower and maybe even a customer if you’re trying to earn a profit with social media.
Stop Out Spam and Bad Posts From the Start
Don’t tolerate spam on your page! If you see it, get rid of it, and block the posting account.
The same goes for harmful posts such as profanity, hateful content, harmful content, and trolls. Don’t let them post on your page. It can kill your page from the very start.
Your moderation policy should be firm, and you need to be reminded that your page is your page to govern and that freedom of speech isn’t always going to overrule. As a page owner, you should have the freedom to censor negativity and trolling.
Stop it before it makes a reputation of being okay to be posted on your page.
You don’t want 10,000 trolls to follow you, do you?
And Finally, be Patient in Getting 10,000 Facebook Page Followers
The page that I run that just hit 10,000 followers didn’t hit this milestone overnight.
It took a little while to get there. It took about four years to get there.
It also took a lot of work from me to develop my reputation in my niche market. I blogged and posted YouTube videos aside from my social media content.
You have to be patient for it to happen.
You also have to be consistent.
I post a few times a day on my Facebook page, and my followers are used to that.
And that’s how I got 10,000 Facebook Page Followers. You can do it if you go by my system above but apply your mission to it. Why do you want that many followers? Add your reasoning to your strategy and enjoy the challenge of achieving that goal.
