Learn

Something

New

Today

You should try to learn something new about your industry or niche daily.

There isn’t any such thing as an expert. Some know a certain amount and then stop. Others continue to learn as much as possible but aren’t experts. You’ll never really be an expert. You’ll just be developing your expertise. The one who continues to build their knowledge wins before the one who has stopped and claimed themselves as the expert.

I’ve never met an expert at anything yet. I’ve met plenty of people with authority and growing expertise. I can never call myself an expert, and I cringe when people refer to me as one.

The first step to building expertise rather than claiming expertise is to devote yourself to learning something new daily.

It’s not hard to learn something new every day.

Learn Something New

Having to learn new things every single day sounds like it would be impossible.

Who has the time for that, right? You do. You have plenty of time to continue developing your expertise by learning something new every chance. You don’t have to spend half the day doing it. You can learn for five minutes or spend a few hours if you have the time.

I focus my efforts on a few days a week for longer learning sessions devoting a few hours. Then on the other days, I’ll spend five to twenty minutes on different topics. The important thing is that I try my best to learn something new each day, whether big or small.

Too many people think daily learning is complex when it isn’t that challenging.

Where to learn something new?

You can learn anything these days thanks to the internet.

Learn something new each day by doing research. Break your industry or niche down into topics and break those topics down into sub-topics. Then learn each topic and sub-topic. That could be your more extended learning resources. Another option is to pay close attention to your industry news websites and authority on updated information. There is always something new to learn there.

I also subscribe to every email newsletter I can find on my niche. These are the best resources for learning something quickly when you don’t have a lot of time in the day. You can usually learn something new without leaving the email newsletter.

The internet is full of resources for learning about your industry – you must search for them.

Be sure to teach something new, too!

Don’t just stop after you learn something new about your industry or niche – pass the knowledge and information forward.

The best way to enhance your expertise and develop your authority is to be a learner and a teacher at the same time. People like you are always looking for resources to learn new things. You can be their resource. You can teach them something new and show yourself as someone with expertise in the industry.

Whenever I learn something new about digital marketing, search engine optimization, and copywriting, it usually turns into an article on this blog. I try to learn the best of the industry and, in return, provide you with an easy way to learn it, just like I did.

A true “expert” is someone willing to teach others EVERYTHING they’ve learned.

You don’t just become an expert or learn everything there is to know about your industry. There is always something new to learn about. I learn something new every time I research information about each article I contribute. You should always try to learn about everything you can, too.
