Will AI Replace Your Marketing Job?

Will AI replace your marketing job?

That’s an important question being asked in 2023.

With the rise of Artificial Intelligence technology like ChatGPT and others. So many people are using it that at the time of writing this blog post, I can’t even access ChatGPT because its servers are at their highest capacity.

AI is a fantastic technology that will change the world for the better. But it could change the world for the worst, too.

No, I don’t think we have to worry about the destruction the human civilization through the rise of Skynet.

But we may need to worry about AI replacing some jobs like content creation and marketing. And with that being said, can AI replace your marketing job or your freelance writing gigs? This article will explore that possibility and note what you can do now.

Can AI Replace Your Marketing Job?

It could.

Most AI engineers are not going to admit this. Instead, they talk about AI collaborating rather than replacing. I’ve already had some freelance writing gigs turned down because their AI program can quickly produce content.

Now, Google has already said that AI-produced content will be penalized. But that is if they can detect it. And what happens if people trust searching for information using AI more than Google? That could be a threat to their search engine’s existence altogether.

But one thing we do know about AI-produced content, if everyone were using AI to create content, all content would be perfect, and SEO couldn’t exist. So everyone would be on the top results, right? But it wouldn’t be possible with the current state of search engines.

So, AI will eventually change how we look for information.

So, while the creators of AI promise that it won’t replace your day job, there is no way to answer the question of, Can AI replace your marketing job or writing gig? But as the system improves, substituting your gig will become possible.

It’s a wait-and-see game.

AI Replace Your Marketing Job

Niching Down is More Important than Ever

Instead of sitting around worrying about AI, it’s time you act.

Will AI replace your marketing job? If you don’t do anything about it, sure. Anything can replace your marketing job if you allow it to, even other people.

My solution is not going to be favorable to everyone for obvious reasons.

My solution is to niche down. Instead of having a focus-on-everything agency or freelance service, start focusing on specific industries and methods. Niche down to the thing you know most about. Niche down to something you can gain more experience in.

You need to narrow your niche to become someone who knows how to market “blank” niche. Then, you need to become one of the go-to leaders in your niche marketing industry.

If you are the “I’ll do anything guy” who charges high prices because AI is killing your game, why would they need to go with your expensive services?

But if you’re the “insert niche here” marketing expert who knows anything and everything about “insert niche here” and the industry, that gives your fame and desire to your audience who wants to use the services of an expert. They’ll even pay high dollars for that expertise.

Expertise in Your Niche is Critical

After you niche down, you need to start focusing on expertise and authority development. That builds trust in your community. It builds loyalty. Help people in your niche. Help them with their biggest problems and do it for free.

The more you give away, the more attention you will get from those within your niche. This is especially important for new marketers. So start a blog and post daily about how “insert niche” can improve their business, brand, or organization using your advice, case studies, and insights.

Participate in podcasts. Post on forums. Get heavy on social media marketing. Get on Reddit. Get on Quora. Make yourself known in your niche. Make sure people know you’re the expert.

Get on LinkedIn and network with everyone.

Make it a point to learn something new about your niche daily. Learn for 10 minutes or learn for half a day. Learn something that will make you better at what you do.

If you accomplish complete expertise in your niche, you won’t have to worry about the question of can AI replace your marketing job or freelance writing gig.

But you’ll have to put in the work because now you’re up against computers and machines, which is worse than Skynet!

So, can I AI replace your marketing job? It might. But if you follow the advice above and work on those two factors, I wouldn’t put too much worry into AI. At least not for now. But you should keep up with the latest in AI. I know I’ll be sharing the latest about it on my Twitter page – so give me a follow if you haven’t already.
